Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

I’m still here — work and our almost-3-year-old daughter have been keeping me quite busy nowadays, and I find myself immersed in her world more than the world of personal finance. I’m still clipping coupons and challenging customer service when necessary, but I’m also making cats out of Play-Doh and playing with dolls (and dinosaurs). I’m hoping to post more regularly come January.

Right now, I’m in the middle of my annual Christmas cookie bake-a-thon, but only two varieties in. This weekend I should be making two or three different kinds, which I think will more than suffice. That is, if I can find the time in between wrapping presents, a task I’ve neglected until the last minute again this year.

I can’t wait to see Miss Emily’s face on Christmas morning, when she sees her “prizes” — her adorable name for presents. While she may not remember it forever, it will be the first Christmas that she really understands what’s happening, Santa Claus and all.

Merry Christmas, everyone! If you don’t celebrate, enjoy the season and best wishes for a Happy New Year.
